New Partner Laws - IMMINENT

New 820 Laws
Partner Laws Changing

The Australian Government last year past a new bill introducing many new changes.

However, the one amendment that would affect many was that the onshore partner visa (subclass 820) would now be split into two different processes.

Whilst we all knew that the changes would come into effect, the exact date of the changes was unknown, until now. The proposed date of enactment is announced to be 17 April 2019.

What does this mean for you? It means that if your visa is expiring soon, and you want to stay onshore, and IF you're eligible to lodge an onshore partner visa now, you ought to do so. Because after this date, you will no longer be issued with a BVA until your Australian partner's sponsorship has been approved (could take months).

If you're unsure about your position, with the little time remaining, please contact us to see whether you're eligible and we would be more than happy to assist.
